Acquisition Opportunity

 Women's Contemporary Fashion Brand

Hilco Streambank is seeking offers to acquire the brand assets of a well-known, up and coming contemporary women’s fashion brand. The opportunity provides an investor with immediate revenue generation through its licensing channels, and tremendous growth potential through scaling and streamlining of the brand’s operations and manufacturing.

Brand Highlights

  • Launched in 2016, the brand has taken the fashion industry by storm.

  • First year sales of approximately $4MM. Projected sales for 2018 $5MM.

  • The company’s enormous success with its primary brand attracted the attention of the large retailers who specialize in the off-price market, leading to the birth of a sister brand that serves as the off-price line for TJ Maxx. 2017 sales were approximately $1.5MM and 2018 sales projections are approximately $3.5MM.

Brand Penetration

  • Prominent placement in specialty retail and department stores including Anthropologie, Bloomingdales, Intermix, Harrods, Neiman Marcus & Saks Fifth Avenue, as well as leading online fashion retailers such as ShopBop, Revolve & Rent the Runway.

  • Strong coverage in numerous major fashion publications including InStyle Magazine, O(The Oprah Magazine), WWD, and The Zoe Report, as it solidified itself as a top hot trend and a staple in women’s contemporary apparel.

  • The brands have become a symbol of outstanding style and are regularly praised and featured by numerous “A-list” celebrities and social influencers such as Eva Mendes, Nicole Scherzinger, Madaline Petsch, Julie Bowen, and Instagram Star, SomethingNavy, to name a few.

Brand Operations

  • The company’s founder and visionary  has extensive experience launching and developing successful women’s fashion brands, as well as a long history within the international wholesale fashion industry. She oversees and directs the design team and overall brand “look and feel”. She will stay on board with the brand.

  • “A”-Line manufactured domestically out of a NYC facility, run by a seasoned apparel industry executive and his production team. Ideal opportunity for a buyer to move production overseas to increase scale and margin.

  • The TJ Maxx sales are done under a licensing agreement. Licensee manufactures the product overseas for TJ Maxx and pays a 15% royalty.

Growth Opportunities

  • The brand has achieved tremendous success in the short time it has been operating, growing revenue to several million dollars, and building trust and acceptance in the fashion community. There is an opportunity here to streamline the operations and manufacturing systems as well as build upon a variety of excellent retailer relationships, and a successful and immediate licensing cash flow with the off-price product line. Additionally, there is an opportunity to develop and grow an e-commerce platform around a branded domain, reducing the heavy reliance on its relationships with specialty and department store retailers for revenue generation. With already significant brand awareness and acceptance, a strong e-commerce presence would provide additional upside and growth potential.

  • The company created a community around its brands, deploying several successful marketing and social media channels. An investor with access to more robust resources to dedicate towards expanding those marketing and brand recognition efforts could easily maximize the potential of these brands, building on an already successful brand.

Sale Process

  • The current owners are looking for an investor with exceptional experience in the fashion and retail industries to provide an infusion of cash and expertise to support further growth, scaling of the brand and streamlining of its operations. The current owners are willing and able to remain with the brand as part of the purchase to maintain continuity and assist with the brand identity and design for as long as the buyer may require.
