Business Overview

Arc is developing the most technologically advanced electric motorcycle in the world, centring its efforts on innovative uses of battery technology.

The Company was incorporated in 2017 with the initial intellectual property and subsequent business idea originally having been incubated within Jaguar Land Rover’s innovation arm, resulting in a working prototype.

The Acr ‘Vector’ motorcycle was launched at EICMA Milan (the world’s largest motorcycle show) in November 2018, subsequently shown at Motorcycle Live at Birmingham NEC and debuted at Goodwood's iconic hill at the Festival of Speed. The launch drew worldwide interest and attention with commercialisation of the Vector now hotly anticipated. The Company’s focus has since been on work towards achieving engineering completion, sign-off and full homologation in the US, EU and US markets with a target for production of August 2020. The current technology readiness level is 6.

Arc aims to become the market leader in the electric recreational vehicle space by designing electric vehicles employing cutting-edge technology rooted in sustainability. Arc’s modular battery technology ensures that it creates a legacy free platform, differentiating the Company in enabling it to be able to design the vehicle purely for the electric market and focussed fully on that purpose. The modular approach also ensures Arc is in a position to easily and cost effectively create a module for a new vehicle, with early-stage development work having already begun on future products such as an ATV.

To enhance the ride experience, Arc has also carried out development work in relation to a multisensory rider notification system comprising heads up display and haptic armour in the form of the ‘Origin’ jacket and ‘Zenith’ helmet - the world’s first haptic feedback motorcycling jacket, combined with a heads up display helmet.

Over £1m has been invested to date in the development of the Vector electric motrocycle, with further efforts having included successful brand-building.
