Andrew Beckingham and Siann Huntley, both of Leonard Curtis Recovery Limited, as Joint Administrators of Audiogum UK Limited (in Administration) ("Audiogum" or "the Company") have appointed Hilco Streambank to actively seek interested parties with regards to the sale of the Company's intellectual property assets.

The Company specialised in smart user experiences for connected tech products. Founded in 2016, with the goal of providing its customers with flexible Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions that allow them to easily integrate the Company’s services into their products, Audiogum developed AI features and experiences for clients within the Audio, Automotive and smart original equipment manufacturer (OEM) industries.

Audiogum developed strong relationships with key customers including Bowers & Wilkins, Libratone, Dynaudio, Sony, Napster and Bosch. Its innovation has been recognised with a number of awards, including a 2019 IHS Markit Innovation Award for Audiogum’s Intelligent Personalization and Bespoke Voice Driven Playlisting.


Audiogum’s Artificial Intellifence features and services centred around three distinguishing elements:

  • Intelligent Personalisation - Allows users to request content based on mood, genre or location, or based on a combination of these factors if very specific content is desired.
  • Content Aggregation – Provides a single-access point so Audiogum’s clients can provide access to over 20 content providers with a single API integration.
  • Natural Language Understanding – Voice-Based Artificial Intelligence that allows products to interpret users’ requests in a natural form and to respond to them intelligently.

Audiogum aimed to provide customers with exceptional features that they built into their products to set themselves apart from the competition and deliver great experiences to end users. As outlined above, the first problem Audiogum’s technology solves is how to get content onto a device, before connecting billions of data points to understand each individual user’s needs and intuitively deliver what they truly want with intelligent personalisation, and then making it easy to surface the content to users by utilising natural language understanding. The layering of intelligent personalisation on top of content and service aggregation forms a unique selling point.

Enabling its customers to access all the content they need, personalise it for their users and truly understand their users' requests was at the core of Audiogum’s activities.

The brand has been promoted through the Company’s attendance at trade shows such as CES 2019.

Patent Applications

The Company has filed patents to protect aspects of its technology, covering “Entity Extraction”, “Conversion State”, “Local Content Playlisting” and “Ambient Sound Playlist Adaption”, across the UK, Europe and the US.


Audiogum’s solutions are underpinned by extensive meta-data catalogues and proprietary event data libraries. This includes a database of music metadata comprised of millions of tracks including thousands of tracks that have been manually tagged up by Audiogum.

Over 12 years of valuable, insightful user data is held. This is comprised of millions of user data points i.e. likes and dislikes providing a strong profile of how to service a user and which helps build accurate playlists that a user will enjoy.


The Company owns algorithms underpinning the personalisation of end-users’ experiences through user taste profiling.


The Company owns proprietary source code in relation to its modular, scalable platform and a number of Cloud-based APIs associated with delivering various services. Key APIs include a Playlisting and Recommendations Engine, User Login, Account Management and Device Management.

A non-refundable deposit of 20% will be payable by the buyer within 48 hours of bid acceptance. VAT, if applicable, at 20% will be added to the price. A buyer’s premium of 10% applies to this sale.
