Background

Electric Fields was founded in 2014 as a weekend music festival held at Drumlanrig Castle in the South West of Scotland. The festival catered to a wide range of age groups, showcased several different genres of music and provided an all-round experience for festival-goers with a collection of attractions on offer during the course of the weekend.

During its active years, Electric Fields attracted a number of well-known artists including Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, James, LEFTFIELD, Frightened Rabbit, Dizzee Rascal, The Charlatans, and Primal Scream. The supporting slots offered a platform to up-and-coming musicians and more diverse genres as the festival prided itself on understanding the value of live musical talent.

The festival showcased high profile line-ups and offered a wide range of activities to attendees. The food market, known as The Pitt, featured many food stalls catering to intolerances and dietary choices, and the offering was tailored for families, with activities such as wildlife walks and children’s entertainment also available.
