In December 2018 Hilco Streambank was appointed by Paul Appleton and Paul Cooper of David Rubin and Partners, the Joint Administrators of Blippar.com Limited (in Administration) to solicit offers for Blippar’s valuable software, apps and other intellectual property assets. Blippar’ augmented reality (AR) and computer vision technology had been used by brands such a PepsiCo, Porsche, Cadbury, L’Oréal, GSK and Procter & Gamble to create engaging and award-winning AR experiences across the consumer journey which deepen customer engagement, drive footfall and increase sales. Working in conjunction with PDS Valuers, Hilco conducted a thorough sales and marketing process, conducting direct outreach. The process generated an immense amount of global interest and resulted in numerous parties submitting bids. The acquisition will lead to a return to creditors and the employment of a number of Blippar’s former staff.
