Hilco Streambank’s Role
The secured lender of EcoMotors retained Hilco Streambank to conduct an Article 9 foreclosure sale process for the patent portfolio, equipment, prototypes, inventory and related know-how of EcoMotors.
The Patented Technology
EcoMotors developed advanced technology to support commercial production of the opposed-piston opposed cylinder (OPOC) high efficiency engine. EcoMotors’ OPOC architecture used fewer parts and offered significant increases in fuel efficiency, reductions in weight, emissions, and cost compared to the conventional internal combustion engines. Applications are wide ranging, and include passenger and commercial vehicles, agriculture and construction equipment, marine propulsion and auxiliary equipment, and power generation.
Hilco Streambank Closed the Deal
Hilco Streambank ran an extensive marketing and sale process for the patent portfolio and related assets, resulting in the closing of a sale of approximately 60 patents.
